Based in North Yorkshire yet embracing pupils from literally anywhere through its online provision, ATS is managed by Jo Storey your first point of contact. Jo has over thirteen years of continuous experience of working in mainstream education as a primary teacher with a proven track record as an effective, enthusiastic, innovative educator within Years 5, 6 and 7 especially.
Whilst specialising in Upper Key Stage Two / Years 5 and 6, she has also gained extensive expertise in teaching and leading learning throughout the whole of Key Stage 2. Key strengths for tutoring here include: years of enabling Year 6 pupils to develop to their full potential in all areas of SATS; invaluable responsibilities as an accredited writing moderator for North Yorkshire County Council; Subject Leadership for whole school English and ICT for six years, including curating whole-school curriculum maps.
Throughout her career as a teacher, Jo was applauded for her unique flair in generating breadth and depth of quality, high-impact and engaging learning for all pupils. In February 2023, she successfully completed a National Professional Qualification (NPQ) in Leading Teaching, further enhancing her OFSTED-endorsed skills as a cutting-edge educator and curator of learning, based upon best practice and securing optimum learning outcomes for all. Extending beyond the classroom, she has now acquired over two years experience and expertise as a personal online tutor for KS2, KS3 and 11 plus students.

We cater to pupils of all needs, dispositions, confidence levels, and abilities. With extensive experience in working with diverse student requirements, all staff working within the agency of ATS are able to accelerate progress and learning.
This includes providing higher levels of challenge and stretch for those seeking mastery; addressing an array of special education needs, confidence levels and dispositions to enable all to achieve to their full potential; and fast-tracking those who for a host of different reasons have gaps in their skills.
In particular, we excel in enabling the most able students to engage with, enjoy and master the most challenging dimensions of English and Maths learning, directly linked to true Greater Depth and high marks/gradings.
Equally, in large, busy mainstream classes, the needs of those in the middle can all too often become overridden by the extremes of the least and most able. This can generate strength gaps in pupils’ repertoires which inevitably impacts upon future progress and attainment. As pupils transfer to secondary, any gaps in learning from KS2 can hinder successful, confident, and motivated transitions – particularly in English and Maths. Our bespoke Maths and English tutoring actively address such needs and fast-tracks both learning and motivation at Key Stage 2 and 3.
Furthermore, our tutoring proactively encompasses students with both diagnosed and Special Educational Needs. Resources and approaches are selected and designed that best address specific learning difficulties whilst also identifying and developing underpinning strengths, knowledge, and skills.
